Summer Solstice, Saturday 21st – Sunday 22nd June
,“Ancient sites on the Inner and the Outer landscape.” Wales is historically a Celtic land where many have acknowledged a strong connection with nature. Some would add that there has been a “healing response,” a rapport with nature in this land. The land of Wales seemingly invokes this response. Our Summer Solstice festival explores the meaning of our connectedness with ancient landscape and its human stories. This is the second part of Festival 2008: A festival of four seasons: The Chiron Centre, based in the heart of Ruthin, in the beautiful Vale of Clwyd, is offering in 2008, a four-season celebration of earth and life seen through many diverse interpretations, so that we may collectively and individually embrace, re-kindle, and re-connect with forgotten themes of life which are vital to our wellbeing. The dates for the four festival events are as follows:Spring Equinox : Friday 21st – Saturday 22nd March Summer Solstice: Saturday 21st – Sunday 22nd JuneAutumn Equinox: Saturday 20th – Sunday 21st SeptemberWinter Solstice: Saturday 20th – Sunday 21st December Contributors at the Summer Solstice include: Chairman, Ian McGregor Brown, Leeds Trinity and All Saints College (formerly of School of Lifelong Learning, University of Wales, Bangor; Ken Brassil, keynote speaker, Senior Archaeologist/historian, Department of Learning, National Museum For Wales, Cardiff; Fiona Gale, County Archaeologist, Denbighshire C.C.; Andy Harrop, Druid and Story Teller; Representing the Chiron Centre: Conny Freidrich, Creative Art Therapist; Tanya McCormack, Taoist Practitioner; Robin Grenfell Cowan, Homeopath, Senior Practitioner; Angela Burton, Principal.
